fmPreferences - Tips and Tricks


Tips and tricks dialog is available in your Store Manager for CubeCart. It can be opened through Help section of the main tool-bar. In this window you can see some tips and enable "Show tips and tricks on Startup" option to get some helpful hints every time you open Store Manager.

Here is a list of tips available at the moment:

  • Use http://support.emagicone.com/ to access Documentation, Step-By-Step Wizards, FAQ and other helpful resources
  • You can change the language of your interface via Tools -> Application Language
  • You can view CubeCart Product Details page via Right Mouse Click on Product Name -> View Product Page 
  • You can assign one or multiple products to different categories by dragging them with your mouse and dropping to appropriate category name
  • A set of product attributes (Product options) can be pasted to one or more selected products just with one mouse click
  • You can hide any interface panel by clicking on dotted line near the panel 
  • Store Manager can connect to your store via Direct MySQL connection or via PHP-MySQL Bridge connection
  • Use SSH for secure direct MySQL connection
  • Support Forum is a good place to talk with other Store Manager users
  • Need new feature to be implemented? - Just request it via Help -> Post a feature
  • Download update when your software shows new version notification. It might be a good idea to save older installation somewhere, just in case...
  • You can copy/paste products from one category to another, between two Stores and even between two Store Manager programs
  • Feel free to report us about any bug you have found in the software
  • If you found a bug in the program, check whether there's newer version available
  • You can create your own Reports in "Custom reports" section
  • You can modify an existing reports - add your logo, colors, company information and other
  • You can find these tips in tips.txt file
  • You can switch off this window by unchecking "Show Tips on Startup" option below
  • If you want to hide left bottom banner open Preferences -> Advanced page... In DEMO version it will be visible in any case
  • To quickly switch to Embedded database just select MySQL database version as embedded-mysql-5 and then click "Yes"

  • When importing products pay attention to each Wizard's page. Import is a rather complicated procedure and it may be destructive if performed incorrectly. Create Database backup before importing products

  • Store URL is used to preview your product and category pages. To specify your Store URL, select Preferences -> Advanced

  • If you get "SQL Error: Access denied for user 'user_name'@'194.187.228.147' (using password: YES)" you have to add your IP address to Access List and allow direct MySQL connections
  • Use export to Excel/HTML to save data in Excel or HTML format exactly as you see it in Store Manager
  • Store Manager/Addon registration requires Internet connection to perform license verification
  • If you have registration issues make sure you are connected to Internet and there's no firewall, antivirus, monitoring system or other application preventing it from being connected to verify your license
